The Night Before Christmas
On the last club night before our Christmas close down we enjoyed a fantastic evening, not only did we enjoy the music of, and a great singalong with, The Littleborough Brass Band, but we also had the privilege to welcome some very important visitors into club.
Our visitors for the evening were, The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester Sharman Birtles accompanied by her husband Grahame, The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Elaine Garry together with Consort Councillor Graeme Shuttleworth and Councillor Jenny Harrison.
A fantastic evening was enjoyed by all but the undoubted highlight was the presentation of a cheque into club funds of £3,500.00 by The Deputy Lord Lieutenant on behalf of The Manchester Guardian Society Charitable Trust. This tremendous donation will help considerably in a year during which we have experienced some very high costs.
