Annual General Meeting
The AGM was held at the club on 13th May 2025. Quite a lot of changes took place as three of our Officers and Trustees retired from their roles. Phil Webber, who had been the Chairperson for the last 23 years, was replaced by Gwen Postlethwaite. Barry King who has been the Vice Chairperson for about 30 years retired and his post was filled at the following Committee meeting by Lisa Day, Peter Gammons and Gweneth Smith. Julia Simpson, the Secretary for the last five years and a Publicity Officer for more than 40 years was replaced by Helen Magee. The retiring officers were thanked for their tireless efforts in supporting the club over many years.
Phil Webber thanked all of the volunteer helpers who give their time every week to support the club in so many ways- stocking and serving on the tuck shop, making and serving the refreshments, taking the register, running bowling and pool competitions, door and transport duties.
Carole Kindon, the Club Leader, reported on the entertainment that has been provided at the club over the last 12 months. There have been several singers, a magician,a Mr and Mrs game, a BBQ, visits from brass bands and a travelling theatre who performed a panto to name a few.
